A tale of generational conflicts in contemporary Turkey: the struggle of brother and sister to emancipate themselves from the family, from the values of tradition and religion and to affirm their freedom.

In a small town in southeastern Turkey, Mahmut wants to divorce his very young wife, with whom he has just married. For the girl, this would mean a sad fate. At the same time,Mahmut’s teenage sister Zeynep leaves her boyfriend, goes to school and gets a job in a factory. Against her father’s wishes, the girl wants to leave the country and go to university. The life plans of the two brothers become the heart of the conflict in a conservative family and community , not used to life choices like those of Mahmut and Zeynep. Their story, intimately captured by their elder brother Ahmet Necdet Çupur – who left the country twenty years earlier for study reasons – narrates the conflicts between generations and between past and present.

Ahmet Necdet Çupur – born in 1984 in Turkey and lives in Paris. He leaves his country, on the border with Syria, at thirteen, to be able to study. He becomes a civil engineer and works for three years between Iraq and Afghanistan during the war. During a trip, he makes a short in Romania, decides to become a filmmaker and moves to France.
