A small, unsuccessful family gold mine, the dream of a futuristic machine: in Chile, a father and son give each other the support they do not get from the rest of society.

In the harsh climate of Chile’s Tierra del Fuego, Toto has worked in the gold mines for forty years. The work is hard, and after suffering a stroke at age 60, he fears his days are numbered. With his father’s health and financial future at risk, Jorge, a cowboy, devises an ingenious piece of machinery to free his father from his labors. After months of welding, sanding, and screwing, Jorge’s huge iron invention is finally ready, and his father can return to work. Will the machine really work? And will it make Toto’s life easier?
