“Ukraine is like porcelain: easy to break, but impossible to destroy.” Despite daily bombardment, Ukrainian artists bring their particular resistance to life.
A touching documentary about people forced, overnight, to leave behind their former lives to defend their homeland. A Grand Jury Prize winner at Sundance, and in the final five at the Oscars, Porcelain War consists almost entirely of footage shot by its main protagonists: Slava, Anya and Andrey. Amid the chaos and destruction of Russia’s brutal invasion of Ukraine, three artists courageously and forcefully search for inspiration and beauty as they defend their culture and their country.
