PLASTIC PEOPLE: THE HIDDEN CRISIS OF MICROPLASTICS

2024, Canada, 80'

Ben Addelman, Ziya Tong

NATIONAL PREMIERE

An investigation into our dependence on plastic and the growing health risks from microplastics. An urgent call to action for all of us to rethink our relationship with plastics.

All plastic produced in the world sooner or later breaks down into microplastics. These microscopic particles disperse into the air,
and mix with the ground, becoming an integral part of the environment. Now scientists are finding the particles in our bodies: organs, blood, brain tissue and even in the placentas of new mothers. What is the impact of these invisible invaders on our health? Can anything be done about it?
