Retrospective “Let’s Save Venice!”

The flood that brought Venice to its knees, through the eyes of the Venetians. A reflection on the climate crisis from one of the most significant, precious and delicate places.

On the night of November 12, 2019, Venice was hit by one of the most violent storm surges in its history. Piazza San Marco was covered by over a meter of water and the images of the devastation have shaken public opinion around the world. It was something very different from the high-water phenomenon that Venetians have become accustomed to. Starting from the images of his house and flooded studio, the director tells firsthand what it means to live with high water and how his city faces catastrophe. The result is a reflection on living on the front line of a climate crisis that is everywhere and of which Venice is a fragile outpost.
