Gloria is a seventeen-year-old high school student, struggling with an apparently simple school research, which will lead her to discover an unknown piece of her family’s past: her grandmother was interned in a Nazi extermination camp. Daughter of a Cameroonian mother and an Italian Jewish father, Gloria comes across a painful testimony from her grandmother, Elena Recanati Foa Napolitano. The girl embarks on a necessary journey, aimed at filling a void that has become the missing piece of her identity, the trace of a past that she has not lived but which often manifests itself in her dreams, turning them into nightmares. Research becomes an opportunity to meet and compare with an adult world that can no longer limit itself to transmitting an institutionalized memory, which risks seeming empty and distant from the new generations. A film that starts from schools, from students, but that can speak to all audiences.
