First-time filmmaker Myrid Carten has always had a video camera, ever since she was a child. When her mother Nuala disappears, she picks it up again to deal with this new crisis. She was once an established social worker, but suffers a mental breakdown after the sudden death of her own mother. Since then, Nuala has moved between rehabilitation clinics, psychiatric hospitals, and sometimes the street. Through intimate, surprising conversations often steeped in dark humor, Myrid engages in dialogue with her mother and other family members, revealing the difficulties of loving someone struggling with addiction and mental illness.
