Il Cinema: 130 anni dopo

On the fateful night of December 18, 1895, humanity was given a new technology and an art form that this year celebrates its 130th anniversary—offering people a long and intense journey through stories, dreams, and images… on the big screen. Cinema was born through documentary, capturing reality, though fiction was present from the very first films. To celebrate this milestone, a special program presents a selection of rare early short films, honoring cinema and music while reflecting on the unique relationship between cinematic storytelling and reality.

At the piano: Daniele Furlati—an award-winning composer and pianist. He has composed soundtracks for films, documentaries, and commercials, collaborating with the Cineteca di Bologna and earning accolades such as the Nastro d’Argento. He performs as a pianist accompanying silent films at international festivals and teaches composition for visual media.

In collaboration with La Cineteca del Friuli.
