Shaping the Gaze – Documentary Education between School and Cultural Policies.


From national policies to European networks, best practices for bringing documentary filmmaking to school: an international comparison of models, alliances and strategies for forming new looks.

How do we build a solid and structured documentary education? The panel compares Italian and European experiences that have integrated cinema, and the cinema of reality, into school curricula through national networks, festivals, archives and educational platforms. From public policies to collaborative models between schools and cultural institutions, a dialogue on already active best practices and strategies to make documentary film a stable tool for visual literacy and cultural citizenship.
