For “a new Palestine Cinema” – part 5

Of Land and Bread

Ehab Tarabieh. 2019, 89′

Filming means having the evidence, being able to make people believe what no one believes: the occupation, as we have never seen it.

In 2007, the human rights organization B’tselem launched a project to provide video cameras and training to Palestinian volunteers in the West Bank to document their lives under Israeli occupation. Composed of several short films, Of Land and Bread is a film of painful eloquence.

Ehab Tarabieh (1982) was born in Syria, where he studied violin at the Academy of Music. In 2010 he began working at the ´Tselem Center and coordinated the filming of an amateur film on the violation of human rights and freedoms under Israeli occupation.
