A reflection on birth, parenthood today, and the path that makes a woman a mother in its psychological and cultural implications.
It is summer, the warm sunlight illuminates Teresa, who tries to shelter from the heat under a large magnolia tree. She is a midwife, 70 years old, with white hair wrapped in a braid and a welcoming smile. In addition to her, about 10 women. They are arranged in a circle; they are all expecting but not all at the same time of pregnancy. The women introduce themselves and tell something about themselves and together with Teresa reflect on the moment of transition they are going through. There are many emotions, doubts and fears that emerge from their stories.
Claudia Brignone spoke – In 2014, she made her first documentary film La Malattia del Desiderio (The Sickness of Desire) winner of the Audience Award at
SalinaDocFest. In 2019 he presented at the Rome Film Festival in the “Alice in the City” section, his second feature film, La Villa a co-production between Videomante with Rai Cinema. Waiting Time is his third documentary.
In collaboration with Melarancia, AIED, ASFO – Azienda Sanitaria Friuli Occidentale.
During the screening there will be a baby-care and creative workshop for boys and girls aged 4 and up.
