A small essay on love, told by those who are stuck at the borders of Europe. . An attempt to change the perspective on the migration phenomenon. An utopian hope to raise awareness among institutions.
If we deprive a human being of their homeland, their loved ones, and their possessions, what is left for them but the memory of these? If we were to also strip them of their rights and dignity, what would remain for them but love? Love to regain their rights, love for those far away or for those yet to arrive. When everything is lacking, the last flame to extinguish is love or the hope of being able to find it or rediscover it. A journey to discover this feeling among migrants trapped on the islands of Lesvos and Cyprus.
